Graffiti AR Privacy Policy

Effective 26 September 2026. Applies to the Graffiti AR application for Meta Quest, developed and published by Citiview Studios.

Summary

Graffiti AR does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no online features. It uses the shape of your room, as your headset's own room setup describes it, only on your headset, to let you paint your walls. Nothing leaves the device.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information of any kind. Graffiti AR does not ask for, read or store your name, email address, contacts, location, voice, images, or any identifier from your device or your Meta account.

2. Spatial data (your room)

Graffiti AR is a mixed reality app. With your permission (the "spatial data" / USE_SCENE permission the headset asks for on first launch), it reads the room layout that your headset's Space Setup has already recorded: the position, size and type of your walls, floor, ceiling and table surfaces. The app uses this only to place paintable surfaces on your real walls and to keep the paint cart clear of them.

This room geometry stays on your headset. It is never uploaded, never sent to Citiview Studios and never shared with anyone. If you decline the permission, the app cannot find your walls and nothing is read.

3. Passthrough cameras

You see your real room through the headset's passthrough view, which the Meta Quest system draws itself. Graffiti AR never receives, records or stores the camera images of your room. The app has no access to them.

4. Your paintings, stored on your device

So that your graffiti is still on your walls next time, the app saves each painted surface as an image file in its own private storage on your headset, together with a small note of that surface's type, position and size in your room and the room-setup identifier of the wall it belongs to. These files contain only the paint you sprayed and those surface measurements. They never leave your headset. Wiping a wall or the whole room from the menu deletes the matching files, and uninstalling the app deletes all of them.

The app also saves a few settings in the standard application preferences: whether you have seen the how-to card, and your music track and volume.

5. Photos you take in the app

When you press the photo button, the app renders the wall you are facing, with your paint on a plain backdrop, and writes that single picture to the Pictures/GraffitiAR folder in your headset's own gallery. The photo shows only your paint, never your room. It is never uploaded or shared; it stays on your headset until you delete it. The app does not read any other photo on your device.

6. How information is used

The room geometry is used only while the app is running, to put paint on your walls. The locally stored paintings and settings are used only to show your art and remember your settings the next time you play. Nothing is used for profiling, advertising or any other purpose.

7. Sharing

We do not share any data with anyone. No data is sent to Citiview Studios, to Meta beyond what the Meta Quest platform itself handles under Meta's own privacy policy, or to any third party. The app makes no network connections of its own.

8. Retention

Your saved paintings and settings are retained on your headset until you wipe them in the app, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Photos you take are retained in your headset's gallery until you delete them. Room geometry is held in memory only while the app runs. Because we never receive any data, we retain nothing.

9. Children

Graffiti AR does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. There is no user-generated content shared with others, no chat and no online interaction.

10. Permissions

The app requests the permissions the Meta Quest platform requires to run a mixed reality application: head and controller tracking, passthrough, and the spatial data (room setup) permission described in section 2. It does not request microphone, location, storage or eye tracking. The build includes the standard internet and local-network permissions that the Unity engine adds to every build by default, but Graffiti AR itself makes no network connections and sends no data anywhere.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
